2022 is almost here—and that means it’s time to start planning ahead for the new year’s living room trends. To get a sense of what to expect, Yang’s Furniture tapped some of our most trusted designers—and they didn’t disappoint.

Below, we’re sharing their predictions for 2022 living room trend. Some of the most-mentioned elements? Textured fabrics, natural lighting, and plenty of houseplants. Read on for your living room inspiration

1.Curved and Organic-Shaped Furniture

We all know that interiors featuring clean lines and sharp shapes are so popular for over a decade now. However, not in 2022! The living room trend will be more focused on softer and rounder shapes in the upcoming year.

With the Pinterest prediction for 2022, Boomers, Gen X and millennials are driving searches this well-rounded home trend such as curved sofas, curved bar designs and round coffee table.

Go with the simple, sober, and multifunctional pieces of furniture. You can skillfully decorate living room and create a softer and more delicate finish with curved or rounded shapes.

Designer Emma Green believes that by 2022, the living room bar and beverage trolley will be huge. “This trend started during the lockdown, and since we are all used to staying at home more, this trend will continue unabated,” she explained. “

Natural and organic materials, wood fittings and floors, stone, abundant daylight and many plants in the living room remind of beautiful landscapes in a comfortable environment.

The technogenic society is returning to natural materials and real plants. To get rid of TVs, computers, mobile phones and other technologies, Don’t hesitate to add a lot of plants and organic materials to your home.

Your grandparents’ fabrics aren’t the only item coming back in 2022. According to experts, vintage furniture is shifting to fully ‘in’ this new year.

A touch of retro is more than enough to spruce up a home. Gentle suggestions of burnt orange, moss greens, and other warm neutrals brighten up-and-coming interiors. Make a pass at your local flea market or Pier 1 for these pops of color and patterns, or reupholster a vintage couch.

Minimalism done right enhances the livability of a space despite featuring fewer creature comforts. By highlighting the central purpose of a room it’s easy to focus on basic day-to-day needs and chores. That said, decluttering must be a core habit in such a home.

People now prefer the more clean, sophisticated, and minimal approach known as the minimalist style. As we already mentioned, the main emphasis upcoming year will be on comfort and functional space.

8. More Natural Lighting

One of the living room trend for 2022 on our list is the lighting! We all know lighting plays an important role in creating an ambiance and mood. So, the selection of the right lighting is as important as following other trends.

For example, if you want a warm atmosphere, go with simple fixtures with softer lighting. Whereas if you want a more natural and organic look, add chandeliers and floor lamps made of glass and rattan. You can also pick a particular theme according to your interiors, such as vintage, art deco, or contemporary.

In recent years, wallpaper has become an important part of interior design. Even architects and experts recommend using wallpapers to add some drama and personality to the space. Wallpaper will become one of the prominent designs in the living room trend of 2022.
